To achieve these ends, the company’s CEO, Sussy Selbst, under the auspices of the Charmers umbrella to organize, promote, and run party extravaganzas that manifest a wide variety of cutting-edge entertainment themes.

Sussy

She is one of those phenomenal “one name” personalities.

Everyone suspects that somewhere in her lively past she had a given, middle, and last name. That is quite true, of course. These days, however, everyone simply calls her Sussy. “It is like fussy, but with an S,” she will tell you with a friendly smile, wink, and good natured laugh if you do not quite catch on at first to her somewhat unusual moniker.

More recently, Sussy has - quite uniquely - acquired yet another “one name” reference. Some now refer to Sussy as the “Charmer” in Charmers Productions, Inc. the L.A. based Production Company where she wears the hats of owner, CEO, creative director, and executive producer in various projects currently under development.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Sussy is a first generation American, the daughter of parents who fled to England from Germany in World War II, abandoning land, privilege, and wealth for life, freedom, and new opportunity. In this way, Sussy’s story mirrors a heritage common to millions of immigrant families.

Leaving home at the age of 18, Sussy ventured forth in pursuit of her dreams. Always a quick study, she used her ingenuity, substantial memory skills, energy, common sense, and dynamic personality to forge ahead in variety of jobs and in life. These included managing a restaurant and then becoming part owner, organizing, promoting, and producing charity benefits, nightclub extravaganzas, and hosting a wide variety of theatrical events, acts, skits, and other staged shows.

Sussy trained in film, acting, producing, directing and writing at the University of British Columbia and the American Film Institute, as well as being a member of SAG. She is also trained in voice-over by various private coaches.

Many have described her as bold. Others, colorfully, have tagged her as audacious, visionary, and as a charismatic force that lights up a room. Whatever the appropriate label might be, it has been tireless commitment, pure spunk, and unflinching confidence - accented with a fluid, comedic wit, a dash of improvisational whimsy, and a playful bit of sexy flirt - that eventually carried Sussy into the creative worlds of some of the greatest producers, talents, and legendary stars of Hollywood and professional sport. In these realms, Sussy was called upon numerous times to contribute her substantial talents by acting in, voicing over, collaborating with, and/or producing television shows, films, and commercial spots in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Canada.

On a private level, this powerful woman is extremely generous, loves to be about others, devoted to her friends and colleagues, digs driving her Porsche, enjoys music and dance, polo, pilates, skiing, and other athletic exercise regimens - especially yoga. She has a strong passion for writing poetry and has taken first place on several occasions in competitions she has entered. She also cares deeply for animals.

Her favorite place to be is in a cabin with a fireplace, and skiing down the slopes of Mammoth, Big Bear, or Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

Sussy also makes it her business to quietly help out the disabled, elderly, and societal underdog. On many occasions during Thanksgiving and Christmas, one will typically find the Charmer, Sussy, either at the L.A. Mission or in another soup kitchen helping to feed the down and out.
